@jophotographs Does he smell like Fritos (corn chips)? My doxie stinks like fritos lol

  2. jophotographs Says:

I have a smooth haired Dachshund and we love him dearly. He’s now a year old but we noticed that he has a certain smell that is quite strong so we bathe him often about 3 x a week. I’m worried that it might strip the natural oils of his coat.

@bnel890 Just love isn’t good enough for any dog, my friend says her dog is the biggest lover of them all but it went after me when I bent down to pick up a quarter I dropped. Any dog can bite and no dog should be trusted 100% most people don’t know anything about reading body language and mistake a sign of biting for somthing cute.

  5. bnel890 Says:

@magicalcrazyness i understand where your coming from, but my dog is the biggest little love. Great personality too. and was never formally trained. Just loved.

  6. magicalcrazyness Says:

Doxies can be great dogs but if you dont train them probaly they can becomes little pains.

  7. magicalcrazyness Says:

I love my doxie he is a bit over protective though, my aunts is way over protective people hug her on just sit near her and the dog will bite them, she thinks its cute but that dogs gonna end up biting the wrong person and get her in a ton of trouble

  9. Alyaxxx Says:

I have a long haired black and tan one that looks just like the one in the video. She is 7 1/2 months old and bites alot! She is so stubborn but very protective, playful and fun.

my Dachshund was awesome… he had red smooth hair and was very good to everyone, he did bite hard though… tore the skin off of my cheek and jaw.

  12. menkejo Says:

your dog sucks compared to mine.

Dachshunds are the best! I has a sweet smooth coat for 10 years. He was protective and nipped at people but he was so sweet with us. I have a black and tan long haired doxie. Buddy is 5 years old. He is wonderful with our grandbabies. They pull his hair and he just lets them. It is almost as if he knows they are babies. I would reccommend a long haired doxie for anyone…especially with children.

I have a miniature long-haired black and tan dachshund named Sally :]. She can’t wait when dad gets home from work XD. She is so lovable and fun. She goes wild with strangers but we let her do her thing and she calms down (But I wouldn’t reccomend then being wild around babies they can be rough)

The audio track is slightly off, but good video.

my wirehaired mini is the most loving dog I have ever met, he is a momma’s boy, but loves everyone. He does like to molest the cats a little too much though. He’s also hyper as can be, I have an acre yard and he can zoom in circles endlessly.

  21. hondaracing1069 Says:

    SHORT DOGS!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA I GOT 2 ;D

  22. 16and30 Says:

    i like the long haired….

  23. pinkflutegirl12 Says:

Well, to me (and this is only my opinion), I actually prefer miniatures. But it isn’t simply because they are cuter, because I find both sizes to be adorable and beautiful. It’s also because my grandma raised minis for years and they were the best pets I’ve ever been around, you wouldn’t believe how sweet they all were. People claim that Doxies are snappy but in both sizes it varies from dog to dog. Both sizes are great though, they’re both still Doxies! =)

  24. lsschwartz Says:

I had 5 daschunds of the smooth hair type. They’re all very vocal, very energetic, will dig out your entire garden and have very compulsive behaviour, such as constant licking of floors.

  25. Darthbelal Says:

accurate information. Dachshunds DO think they’re bigger than what they are, they’re also stubborn and do need the exercise. I’ll add that they make for good watchdogs as they’ll let you know whenver someone comes knocking.
