Molly’s original owners debarked her, and as a result she had to gasp for breath every time she barked. It was sad to see this silly Basset Hound/Golden Retriever mix struggle for breath even at the happiest of times. This is aa common side effect. We were the fourth and final caretakers for this geriatric hospice rescue. We originally intended to foster her for permanent placement elsewhere, but her health was so poor that she only lasted a couple of months. When she came to us, we knew that she loved children and couldn’t manage stairs anymore. She also had an undiagnosed splenic mass, which became her undoing. She was a sweet and friendly girl.
