@JoelleDunn Vernacular has every place in the discussion. For a person who spends a lot of time participating in dog breeding or showing, understanding specific coat color conformations is important. For the average pet owner, however, it is meaningless trivia to know that “red” or “white” labs are actually variations on the “yellow” coat, and if I were describing the dog to someone, it is actually infinitely more helpful to call it one of the former. Gold is a color & perfectly usable as such.

Ohh shiit a dog pack

you should let your dogs play, biting is completely fine for a dog, it’s play fighting. As long as it is not overly excessive, GSD’s are not known to be overly excessive though.

@montyscherzando – maybe – I wanted her more to have the upper hand. They were so enamored and confused by her. It was really fun to watch unfold. I’m glad I had the video camera out.

@JoelleDunn actully the puppy was saying ‘ok your in charge’ what you were doing is basically telling the puppy that she/he is in charge of the GSD’s. and the GSD’s are lower in the higherache then the lab pup.

@OneillSurf7 – agreed. As I replied to Knollock: “@Knollock – Yellow Labs are what we call Yellow Labs. Golden retrievers are what we call Golden retrievers. We don’t call Labs Golden, we don’t call Retrievers Yellow. Common vernacular doesn’t apply here – the color terms for each breed of Lab and each Retriever are set in stone.”

@montyscherzando – the sound is actually 2 seconds off because this was taken off of a photo camera and not a video camera – I said HEY, when I saw them going a little sniff crazy at the end of the video. I felt that they were both ganging up on her a little more than I’d like. I was just trying to warn them to back off.

@tmack1337 – lol – some people don’t like me talking during the video because they say I talk too much – even though I’m just trying to keep the shepherds aware that I’m there to make sure they don’t nip the pup.
have a great day!

@ERdoctorpetpeeves – the only advice I’ve given people is that getting littermates isn’t always a good idea. They don’t always bond with the family because they’re too busy competing with each other. Getting another dog later is usually a doable situation and usually works out well because the first dog has already bonded with the family. If you read through the comments, you’ll see the history of these 2 german shepherds after this video.

@JoelleDunn Are those two shepperds from the same litter? They look a lot alike… Just wondering??

I’ve been debating about getting a second GSD. My shepherd now seems to keep me plenty occupied as it is; for those of you that have 2 german shepherds; how does having 2 compare to 1? my GSD is a little crazy: search “BIG DOG BEER CAN” to see what I mean. any advice on 2 GSD would be appreciated; thanks.
