This is Raccoon Willie at two weeks old. He looks a lot like a kitten, and he makes a crazy sound when we rub the back of his neck. Special appearance by the Crazy Beagle! baby raccoon

I am a licensed rehabber as well, and Herochick is 100% correct. Raccoons can carry many zoonotic illnesses but they are surprisingly hard for humans to contract.
I have raccoon cubs in my house every spring (including right now) and no one in my house has ever gotten sick from them. Neither have my animals at home or work.

@Kl1130 I am a wildlife rehabilitator licensed by the state. You are absolutely wrong. The only infections from the particular roundworm, which is what they have, is if you consume their fecal matter. In the history of this condition, only 5 people in the U.S. have died from this, all children who ate raccoon feces. I’ve rehabbed for ten years and, believe me, I’ve handled more than my share of raccoon feces. If anyone should get that worm, rehabbers should. Guess what–none have.

I have a friend who always had pet raccoons. Most eat cat food or table scraps. They are scavengers in nature so they are willing to eat anything.

omg.. so freakin cute… I just had 4 of these babies taken out of my wall. Luckily the guy was really humane about it and is going to reunite the babies with their mother and let her take the babies elsewhere.

I kinda wanted to keep one but I know I couldn’t care for it.

  21. brendenwatts12 Says:

    were did u get him

  22. joeymcnew37209 Says:

@besjjcore if you get them as tiny babies, you can train them to use a litter box.

  23. Heather103112 Says:

Ah. I remember when my raccoons were that small. I got them at two days old. They were almost dead. Took forever for their eyes to open. They’re still alive and well to this day. They do leave a few bumps and bruises when you play with them, that’s for sure. xD Oh, but they’re wonderful animals… They’re smart, fun, and adorable.
